Appendiceal mucocele appears as a well-circumscribed, low-attenuation mass on CT with smooth or irregular walls, mural calcification, and cystic dilatation contiguous with the cecum, diagnosed when luminal diameter exceeds 1.3 cm, requiring surgical excision to prevent pseudomyxoma peritonei.
